Opened in 1822, New York City’s Fulton Fish Market is the largest fish market in the United States. Well before the Brooklyn Bridge was even built, the market at South Street Seaport thrived with fishing boats and fishmongers bartering and bantering over stalls heaving with fresh fish. Perhaps more than any other institution, the Fulton Fish Market captured the spirit and tradition of old New York.

Crispy Salt & Pepper Shrimp 🍤🔥 …might be one of the best ways to eat shrimp. The real secret? The salt and pepper seasoning. Savory, garlicky, slightly sweet, and packed with flavor so every bite hits perfectly. This is the perfect idea to make for your get togethers. I also show you my way to split the shrimp in case you don’t like the shell. What you’ll need: 2 dozen shrimp 3/4 cup potato starch or AP flour 1/2 cup cornstarch Season shrimp with: Salt to taste 2 tsp white pepper 1 tbsp bouillon 2 tsp garlic powder 2 tsp onion powder Aromatics: 4 jalapeños sliced 1 tbsp minced garlic 1 tbsp minced shallot 2 Green Onion stalks Salt & Pepper Mix: 1 tbsp bouillon 2 tsp sugar 1 tbsp salt 1 tsp garlic powder 3 tsp black pepper (Do not use all, season moderately) Instructions: Prep and devein shrimp. Coat in the dry dredge and shake off excess. Fry at 350°F for 2–3 minutes until crispy and golden. Sauté garlic, shallot, and jalapeños until fragrant. Toss shrimp back into the pan with the salt and pepper seasoning and serve immediately. #shrimp #saltandpeppershrimp #easyrecipe #cooking

Part 2: The purge 🦞 If your crawfish still taste muddy… you skipped this step. Let’s clear something up you’re not really “forcing them to purge”… you’re cleaning off all the dirt, mud, and debris so your boil doesn’t taste like the swamp 🌊 Easy 5-step process: 1. Add live crawfish to a large cooler or tub 2. Fill with cold water 3. Let them sit for 10–15 minutes 4. Stir gently to release dirt + impurities 5. Drain, rinse, and repeat until water runs clean Pro tip: toss any dead ones they float 🫣 Clean crawfish = cleaner boil = better flavor 🔥 I get mine fro @fultonfishmarket fresh, live, and delivered straight to your door 📦🦞 Comment “CRAWFISH” and I’ll send you the link 🔗
Part 3: The cook 🔥🦞 If your seafood boil isn’t hitting… you’re probably overcooking it. This is where everything comes together flavor, timing, technique. Easy 5-step process: 1. Bring a large pot of seasoned water to a rolling boil 2. Add potatoes + corn first → cook 10–12 minutes 3. Pan-sear sausage separately until charred + crispy edges 🔥 4. Add crawfish + shrimp → cook 3–5 minutes until bright red/pink 5. Turn off heat → soak everything 15–25 minutes for max flavor Pro tip: that sausage char adds a whole new layer of flavor 😮💨 And remember the soak is where the magic happens… not the boil 🌶️ Drain, toss everything together with the sausage + sauce, and get ready to feast 🔥 I got all my seafood from @fultonfishmarket and delivered straight to my door 📦🦞 Comment “BOIL” and I’ll send you the link 🔗
